Deluxe Baked Ziti

Deluxe Baked Ziti

Take baked ziti to the next level with this updated recipe

Prep Time - 20 min

Cook Time - 30 min

Total Time - 1 hr

1 lb Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage
12 oz whole wheat penne pasta
4 cups Homemade Marinara sauce - recipe in this post or use your favorite jarred spaghetti sauce
24 oz light Alfredo Sauce
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 cup Shredded Low Moisture Part Skim Mozzarella

1.Preheat oven to 350
2.Spray a large casserole dish with nonstick spray, set aside
3.In a large skillet brown sausage over medium heat unitl cooked through
4.Drain sausage and return back to skillet
5.In a large saucepan cook pasta according to package directions, draining and returning to pot when cooked
6.Add spaghetti sauce to drained sausage and stir to combine, heat over medium heat to a simmer
7.Add alfredo sauce to cooked pasta and stir to combine, warm over medium heat
8.Stir in grated parmesan cheese to the pasta
9.Pour pasta into prepared pan and spread into an even layer
10.Pour sausage mixture over pasta and spread as even as possible
11.Sprinkle mozzarella over sausage mixture
12.Cover pan with foil and bake for 20 minutes
13.Remove foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes or until cheese is starting to brown and bubble
14.Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving
