It's that time of year. These are some great remedies for soothing a sunburn. Always wear sunscreen this time of year. But sometimes that might not even be enough to protect us from the sun.

 1. Make a potato paste. Potatoes are know to be a great pain reliever.
 2. Cool milk compress. Helps cool the sunburn and creates a layer of protein to protect your skin.
 3. Cornstarch/baking soda for fighting burns. You most likely have these items lying around you house.
 4. Drink lots of water! Sunburn can make you dehydrated.
 5. Cool off with mint & tea. This will also help cool and soothe a sunburn.
 6. Aloe vera gel. It’s cool, soothing, and seems to suck the sting and redness right out of your sunburn.
 7. Vinegar, also has been said to help soothe and cool too. Low cost and most of us have this in our homes. All we need is a spray bottle.
 8. Witch hazel. This is a plant and is found in a distilled liquid extract form.
 9. Quaker rolled oats or any brand will do. Know to coat and heal your skin.
 10. DIY burn cream. This cream contains water, witch hazel, aloe vera gel, mint leaves, and baking soda, all of which relieve sunburn for various reasons.
 11. We all know that the best way to treat a burn is. "To not get Burned."
 12. Use plain yogurt. Live cultured plain yogurt contains an abundance of probiotics and enzymes that help heal our skin.
 13. Avoid soapy water. Soap can dry out or irritate your skin.
 14. Double check your meds. Some meds can make your skin ultra-sensitive to the sun.
 15. Apply, reapply your sunscreen. Apply 30 minutes before you go out and reapply if your sweating or swimming as needed.
 16. Watch the clock. Between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm the sun is the most powerful and damaging during this time.
 17. Cucumber, is an instant relief to burned skin. Its antioxidant and analgesic properties promote healing and further relief from discomfort.
